Not too late to tackle debt, Christmas spenders told

Financial worries are causing one in ten Britons to say they are 'very concerned' about their ability to manage their debts.
The number of people concerned about their levels of debt has risen from seven per cent in August to a current figure of 11 per cent, research by MoneyExpert reveals.
Indeed, more than one in four adults admits to having fallen further in debt over the past three months, with some 2.7 million claiming to owe ten per cent more then they did at the end of the summer.
"Christmas is a massively expensive time of year so you can't help but worry that many more are likely to become increasingly concerned about how they'll cope," Sean Gardner, chief executive of MoneyExpert, explained.
However he reassured consumers that even in the run up to Christmas it is not too late to try to sort out what seem like disastrous debts.
"While it's crucial that those in need receive help, it's worth pointing out that there are lots of people who have their debts well under control," he asserted.
"Anyone who is worried that they are struggling to keep on top of their debts is heading for serious trouble if they do not take action now.
